Peter Hogue

Peter Hogue, a co-curator of Rediscovering Robert Kramer, is a native of Ellensburg, WA, earned his Ph.D. in English at the University of Washington in 1971. He is faculty emeritus in English at CSU, Chico, where he taught film and

literature from 1971 until 2005. He has been the primary film reviewer since 1978 for the Chico News and Review. He ran the University Film Series at CSU, Chico, 1975–1990 and 2000–02. He has written for Film Comment, Film Quarterly, The Velvet Light Trap, Movietone News, Senses of Cinema, and Film/Literature Quarterly, and is now working on projects about westerns, the French New Wave, Mexican cinema of the 1940s, and Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s.

Ellen L. Walker

Ellen L. Walker, a curator of Rediscovering Robert Kramer, is Professor Emeritus of English and American Literatures at California State University, Chico, specializing in Shakespeare and Renaissance Drama. She also taught for a brief period in the Film as Literature program. She worked as an editor and publisher at Dustbooks, a small press in Northern California and still writes reviews for its on-line magazine, Small Press Review, which she once edited. She was a college friend of Robert Kramer’s and re-encountered him in Paris when she began spending summers in France in 1991. During that period and until his death she watched films with him, both in his studio and in the Paris Cinematheque.

Thomasin Saxe

Thomasin Saxe, a former student of Hogue and Walker, is happy to be helping with Rediscovering Robert Kramer  for the time being. She is a long-term fan of film and is only slightly more adept at websites than her only slightly older professors.
